Why Choose Braces?
There's a reason why people think "braces" when we mention orthodontics. Braces have been around for a very long time — centuries, in fact. They can be a very effective away to not only achieve the ideal smile, but also help correct misaligned bites, including both underbites and overbites.
When determining the best course of action to fix your smile, Dr. Boren will perform a thorough examination, including X-rays, and may take photos of your face. We will then decide what type of braces would work best for you.
Which type of braces is best for you?
It depends, and a lot of it comes down to understanding your lifestyle and preferences. Braces are a commitment, after all, something you'll wear on your teeth and need to take care of for at least a few months. But there's more to it. Your unique smile and bite play a part, too, so the best way to find out is to have a free consult with Dr. Boren. He'll be happy to help you figure out a path that can help you achieve your goals. How Braces Work
Braces consist of bands and wires. Depending on your needs, other corrective appliances may be required. They work by applying pressure on your teeth to move your teeth into the right position. Your mouth will be closely monitored and adjustments will be made to ensure they are working the way they are supposed to. Boren Orthodontics offers two types of braces: metal and clear.
Types of Braces
Dr. Boren and our team don't have a "one size fits all" approach to smile care because every smile is different, and each one belongs to someone who has different needs and different lifestyle preferences. That's why we offere customized treatments.
Metal Braces for Our Midland Patients
Classic metal braces are an excellent option for both adults and children. Our conventional braces are made of top-grade stainless steel archwires and brackets that are strategically positioned to give you the beautiful smile you would like. They are an ideal option for patients with jaw alignment issues, gapped or crowded teeth, under- or over-bites, and protruding teeth. In addition, we use high-quality elastic bands that don't easily break and are simple to put on. In your consultation with Dr. Boren, He will discuss your orthodontic treatments and help you pick the method that suits your goals.
Clear Braces: A Low Profile Alternative
Many people don’t want to get the orthodontic treatment that they need because they don’t want to wear metal braces. However, you can still get the smile you deserve with the new alternatives that are available. Clear braces are much less noticeable than metal braces but still give patients the smile they deserve.
Importantly, Invisalign® clear aligners are not the same as clear braces. Clear aligners are removeable plastic trays that you wear like you would wear a mouthguard.
Clear braces are just like metal braces, but they are almost invisible. Clear braces have many advantages. They are almost invisible, giving patients who do not want traditional braces another alternative. They also help improve patients’ confidence.
Important Considerations for Clear Braces
Despite all of the advantages, there are some disadvantages too. They can also become discolored by tea, coffee, wine, and other foods. Smoking can also cause discoloration. Treatment with clear braces can also take a little longer than treatment with metal ones. However, if you are dedicated to getting the smile you deserve, you will find investing time into your smile well worth it.
After a thorough examination with X-rays, we will be happy to discuss your many options for improving your smile. We will go over the advantages and disadvantages of each so that we can determine the right course of treatment.

Braces Reviews
We love Dr. Boren & his whole staff! Everybody is very welcoming and they're great at explaining treatment options. My daughter felt happy and comfortable during her braces installation today.
Dr. Boren’s office is such a pleasant place. They make children feel safe and welcome you with a genuine smile. Questions are always answered. I had taken my youngest son to get evaluated and Dr. Boren said “ Come back in a year!” That was awesome! Simply because he could have put him on a plan but my son didn’t really “NEED” braces yet. I appreciate that Dr. Boren is more interested in the oral health of children and we appreciate that a lot. Dr. Boren and his staff are Amazing! I recommend 100%!
Moved to Midland from 7 hrs away 6 months after getting my 13 yr old son braces. We got 4 consults/quotes from orthodontists here in town and Boren was the best option by far!
It was great, everyone was professional, talked to the kids while they were working. They were very informative about my kids braces journey.
I honestly wasn’t expecting to get my braces put on during my consultation, but I did! Everyone at Boren Orthodontics was so sweet and made me feel completely comfortable. Dr. Boren and the staff were all amazing, and I really appreciated how patient they were and how they explained everything to me. I’m so glad I found them and I’m excited to start this journey!🤍

Easy Braces Care
You will have to brush your teeth often while you have braces so that food and other particles do not get stuck in them. Flossing is still necessary too. You may also find out that it is important to stay away from certain foods that are difficult to eat.
